Event #46: $50,000 The Poker Players Championship

Eight players remain for the final day of the $50k Poker Players Championship, with Brandon Shack-Harris sitting with the chip lead.

Shack-Harris is having a blow out series so far. He won his first bracelet in Event #3: $1k Pot-Limit Omaha, came second in the $10k Event #18: Seven Card Razz tournament and 3rd in Event #43: $1.5k Limit Hold’em.

Abe Mosseri, Frank Kassela, and John Hennigan sit in second through fourth behind him, with the seventh largest stack, Melissa Burr, becoming the first female player ever to cash in this event.

This is the third consecutive cash in this event for Hennigan, with back to back final tables.

Mosseri has apparently put some heavy action into sidebets, and by reaching this final table is rumored to already be up $600k.

Event #47: $1,500 Ante Only No-Limit Hold’em

The only bracelet of the day went to Jesse McEuen. He faced a final table which included bracelet winner Bulgarian Simeon Naydenov, Ryan “g0lfa” D’Angelo and Adam “Roothlus” Levy.

Jeremy Joseph started the day with the chip lead but fell out in eighth place. D’Angelo and Levy went in 6th and 5th, with Naydenov lasting until he busted in fourth.

McEuen faced German Jonas Lauck heads up. They started with roughly the same size chip stacks, but McEuen gained a slight lead by the first break.

The first hand after the break was the last. Lauck got all his chips in with A-T only to see McEuen holding A-A.

McEuen’s first bracelet earned him $212k—Lauck took home $130k.

Other events still running

Event #48: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better

Scott “BigRiskky” Clements holds the chip lead going into Day 3. Only three and a half big blinds behind him is Jeff Madsen who has been featured on many of the event leaderboards so far this year.

Luck has not been with him, and he has registered only three cashes in the series, with 20th in Event #35: $5k No-Limit Hold’em Eight Handed being his highest finish. Madsen is looking for his fourth WSOP bracelet.

There are 11 players left in the event. Clements is going for his third bracelet, Tom Schneider, who is eighth in chips, is hoping for his fifth.

Event #49: $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em

Day one took out nearly 500 of the 696 players who entered this $5k event. 204 remain to compete for the $3.2 million in prize money.

Ken Einiger has five cashes in the 2014 WSOP under his belt, and with the chip lead is in good shape to add another.

Vanessa Selbst is well placed in 6th to make another bracelet challenge; Josh Arieh has her outchipped with the second largest stack, with JC Tran and Jason Koon also securing big stacks on day one.

Further down the chip ranks, the field is packed with high profile players— Phil Helmuth has playable chips and maintains a lean and hungry look.

Event #50: Eight Game Mix

It was a very long day for the Eight Game Mix contenders who were the last to finish up their ten levels for the day.

Just over 20% of the 486 strong field remains in the running. The chip leader is Eric Crain, who ended Day 1 of last year’s $2.5k Eight Game Mix as chip leader too. Crain went on to bag 4th place in that event.

Brandon Cantu is sixth in chips with 2011 Main Event runner up Martin Staszko in seventh.

Phil Ivey lurks in mid-field, with Daniel Negreanu some way above him, not yet out of touch with the leaders.
